Destiny 2: Forsaken, the game’s new expansion is due to be released on 4th September
Destiny 2: Forsaken is due for launch on September 4, but Bungie has already revealed the new patch notes and a road map for content after the release. The new expansion will be released with the new season, the “Season of the Outlaw”.
The patch notes go into a lot of detail, but there are some important bits. The Orpheus Rig has been nerfed a bit. It will no longer grant Super energy on bloom and damage sharing. But the base Super amount that you get from tethers has been raised. Also the Super energy you will receive will scale up if more powerful enemies are tethered. There are other small changes to other exotic armors as well.
Weapon slots have received major changes. Primary Ammo weapons and Special Ammo weapons can be placed in either Kinetic or Energy slots now. Heavy ammo weapons will only exist in power slots. This called for changes to ammo distribution models. Also, Energy weapons will no longer deal bonus damage to active enemy Supers.
The number of slots in the vault have been increased to 500. And in a welcome change, players will now be able dismantle shaders in stacks of five in Master Rahool’s vendor screen. Elsewhere, Cayde-6 has left the Tower to investigate the disturbance at the reef.
“The main thing we want to change with year two of Destiny 2 is that there’s never a content drought,” design director Justin Truman says in the video accompanying the Beyond Launch update. The Roadmap details the content Bungie has planned for Destiny 2 after the beginning of Season of the Outlaw. Each new season will last three months, with new content to offer. Most of the new content will be available to all the Destiny 2 players for free.
There will also be a Forsaken annual pass. “The Forsaken Annual Pass is different than the traditional post-launch Destiny expansions we’ve delivered in years past. Black Armory, Joker’s Wild and Penumbra will offer a range of different experiences that consist of new endgame activities and modes, discovery, and challenges that escalate, ebb, and flow over time, with each offering prestigious rewards. “
The Annual Pass content will also release throughout the year along with the free season content
