June is #PrideMonth and Sony is celebrating it with a theme dedicated “For all the players”
Internet is splattered with Rainbow themes from different websites. Of course, in the gaming world, there are a lot of LGBTQ players across the globe. They are often one of the most bullied in the cyber world and are often used to trashtalk or belittle enemies or perhaps, teammates. Sony, on the other hand, is honoring them during Pride month by giving a rainbow themed layout entitled “For all the players”.
If you are wondering why, that’s because June is LGBT #PrideMonth. It is a month to celebrate and be proud of stirring up the courage to stand up for your gender preference. Actually, it’s LGBTQIA which stands up for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersexual, asexual/allies.
Sony’s “For all the players” theme transforms all menu icons into rainbow versions of it with sparkling gold buttons. A rainbow colored signal boost of PlayStation is located at the top of your screen. Their slogan for this month is also written at the bottom which reminds and honors “all the players”
You might be seeing a lot of Rainbow themed layouts in different social media platforms and browsers. Type LGBTQ in Google’s search bar and you’ll see their #PrideMonth layout. In the Facebook world, FB created rainbow filters as well as in their messenger and in Instagram. Since, last year 2017 they had rainbow reactions which actually disappointed many LGBTQ people.
For all the players out there, this one’s for you . . .
Sony originally had this theme last year July for European PS4 owners. The company served as a sponsor of the London Pride Parade in 2017 giving a shout out to its players. To download the theme and join the celebration, just click here.
