PUBG corp. has shared images of the underground cave for Codename: Savage which, according to them, was inspired by the Phraya Nakhon Cave.
PUBG has made a lot of improvements in the past few months. A part of it can be owed to the fact that Fortnite is taking away a lot of PUBG’s player base. From server improvements to recent balances and a new map in the works, they surely want their throne of the best Battle Royale back. They have been making quite a lot of future plans for the game, which includes the upcoming map selection update and their new map, Codename: Savage.
Upon its release for beta testing, the map received a lot of positive reviews. It is packed with action, and is way more competitive. PUBG Corp. looked at Southeast Asia as an inspiration for this map, with the design based on the tropical jungles of Thailand. We can see Asian influences in the form of pagoda style buildings and shacks. The map is action-packed due to its small size of 4x4km. And now, they are planning to add another layer to it, literally.
In a recent Steam post, PUBG corp. announced their plans to introduce an underground cave system in Codename: Savage. The inspiration for this comes from the Phraya Nakhon Cave in Thailand. They also shared these photos on their blog post, and I think it looks gorgeous.
The developers have said that they still have more work to do before the full release of the map. It will take a couple of months before the map is finally ready. The map will be rolled out in the next couple of test phases.
