People showed support to two women who made a prank by making a petition on Change.Org to ban Fortnite
The petition to ban Fortnite now has almost 3,000 signatures! The actual petition was created by anonymous individuals who now came out to clear the issue. 17-year-old Chloe said it was supposed to be a prank for her boyfriend who plays the game every time. The title of the petition is “Get Rid of Fortnite” with the common goal is evident enough. She said to ABC News that with the help of her friend Jaime, they created the petition. However, things went viral for the two signers as many of the community expressed their support, each with their own issues like kids not doing their homework, husbands not giving attention to their wives, and overall disallowing family time because of the game. They stated that they didn’t take it down because it spreads awareness to the people who are addicted to the battle royale.
Men playing video games? Or are video games playing people.
In a research done by Statista.com, it showed that there are over 59% men who enjoy playing video games on an average day. These men are at an average age of 35. That said, it’s clear that the so-called prank’s cause could be true for other relationships across the globe. Through the comments of the petition, some parents expressed concern that their children are nowhere to be seen because of the game. This could be a good thing for the game publishers. However, it may pose a problem for future generations.
We already know how addicting gaming is, there’s no need to research what game is addicting and what is not. We should still be responsible as gamers to know what is right and wrong so that our peers would not ‘prank’ us by making a ‘petition to ban Fortnite’ or do whatever action to stop us from enjoying video games. Game responsibly, Gamegeeks!
