Therefore, opening the gates to the cross platform play within PC and PlayStation 4. However, the dream is yet to come true, as Epic Games is still looking into the possibility. While the PC version let’s you play with Xbox and PS4 separately, the PS4 and Xbox Fortnite cross-play is still in the works. Good news is, Xbox boss Phil Spencer wants in on the fact that it could happen soon.
Creating a huge buzz around the Twitter scene. A few threads later, even Epic Games jumped on to the discussion, stating “We 3!!” in the thread. This could mean big things for the two rival consoles. What could be better than a friendly competition? Right?
What could this mean for the game as a whole?
As the game rises to the top, cross platform play for everyone could be positive while instilling negative thoughts in the process. First, this could mean that PC and console gamers are going to have a hard time dealing with each other. Furthermore, the controls would normally set the console players at a disadvantage. Second, the people might not be ready for it yet, given that the game is still technically in beta, the growing numbers might come in a shock. So even though it brings a lot of people together, the cross platform game can possibly put everything that the developers have worked hard on in a vulnerable state. The positive reviews that they have gotten will be on the line as well.
But what do you think? Should the platforms stick with themselves? Or is this the best for both users and the business?
