Evil Geniuses came in poised as they surgically dismantled Newbee, kicking the TI7 runner ups out of the ESL One Katowice 2018 in a record-breaking fashion.

The ‘boys in blue’ only needed 20 and 17 minutes respectively, ending both games with 24-6 and 21-5 kills to advance to the playoffs where they have to face rivals Virtus.Pro.
It looks like their recent revamp finally paid off as they are now one series away from assuring themselves a set of DPC Points. Currently at 8th place, EG is fighting in a tight spot at the Top 8, grinding behind Vici Gaming and Mineski.
EG showed dominance from the draft up to the games with Artour “Arteezy” Babaev going ham on his Gyrocopter and Terrorblade, gathering an impressive 16-1-10 KDA across both games. What’s more impressive is that the rest of EG didn’t had a losing KD ratio in the series with the exception of Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen’s 0-1-10 KDA on his Bane in the first game.
Arteezy added that their drafting strategies has been a key to their successful run. “Today we managed to think outside the box… they were definitely caught off guard with our drafts.” he said.
On the other side of the matchup, Newbee looked tilted and out of sync. Song “Sccc” Chun was stomped in both of his lanes. His carry Ursa and Death Prophet mid never had a single kill for the whole series.
Fans were astounded with the way EG outmaneuvered Newbee in both games, making it one of the hottest topic right now in the Dota 2 community.
Even the casters and panel didn’t hide their two cents about the teams’ performances. Game caster Owen “ODPixel” Davies can only meme about the result.
“What’s going on? How am I gonna make jokes about EG now? How’s anyone gonna make jokes about EG now?” the famous caster clowned.
With Newbee gone, EG is now hoping to replicate the runs of Fnatic and Vici Gaming, both sitting at the semi-finals after winning in their respective groups as they have now secured additional points for their DPC bids.
