An Overwatch League token will be awarded to all eligible viewers on Twitch, and 100 tokens to a percentage of selected lucky viewers.
After a successful stage one, stage two of Overwatch League begins today. And now you can earn Overwatch League tokens simply by watching the League matches. To earn, you must watch the matches on Twitch, MLG or overwatchleague.com. Your Blizzard Battle.net account should also be linked to the accounts on these websites.
According to the official announcement:
“Each time a map concludes during a live broadcast, eligible viewers will earn a League Token. Also, a percentage of lucky fans viewing the live broadcast when a match ends will be awarded 100 League Tokens, enough for a home-team skin of their choice!”
Each match has 4 maps and a tie breaker if the situation arises. This means that at three matches a day for four days a week, one can earn anywhere between 48 to 60 tokens. And according to the rules, “the number of free home-team skins awarded per match are determined as follows: 2*SQRT(N), where “N” equals the number of eligible participants.” That means, if there are 1000 eligible spectators, 63 of them stand a chance to win a 100 Overwatch League tokens. The number increases as the spectator count goes up.
The viewers from the following country are eligible as of now:
Argentina, Austria, Chile, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and United States.
Also, you need to be 13 years or older and have to redeem the tokens before 31st December, 2018.
You can unlock other loot like hero emotes, Overwatch League skins not yet available in game, and more, through Cheering with Bits on Twitch.
According to the announcement:
“For every 100 Bits Cheered, you’ll unlock one of 26 Overwatch Hero emotes, and for every 150 Bits Cheered for an Overwatch League team, you’ll will receive that team’s emote.
“Global Cheering thresholds—combining everyone who tunes in to an Overwatch League match—come with even bigger returns, unlocking special Hero skins for each benchmark achieved.”
