The PBE cycle now shifts to Patch 8.4 after Swain’s rework and Cho’Gath’s visual update in Patch 8.3 goes live.
Highlights of the League of Legends Patch 8.4 PBE includes new skins for the Noxian Grand General as well as His Majesty, Jarvan IV, the Exemplar of Demacia. Xin Zhao will receive yet another base splash art remake after Miss Fortune’s skins received new splash arts before Patch 8.3.
(Warning: PBE Content is tentative and subject to change – what you see below may not reflect what eventually gets pushed to live servers at the end of the cycle! Manage your expectations accordingly.)
Dragon Master Swain
“I fought the dragons once. Now, I have become one.” – Dragon Master Swain
Swain becomes a dragon himself in the Dragon Master skin. Even his ravens circling the map became dragon-like creatures! The skin features visual effects of fire and smoke, and new sound effects mixed with dragon roars. He also gains new animations including his Recall, and a new transformation when he casts Demonic Ascension. His VO is now processed, and all ‘bird’ themed lines have been removed and replaced with more thematically appropriate ones.
Dragon Master Swain is now available on the PBE and will be the Noxian Grand General’s fourth skin after the Northern Front, Bilgewater and Tyrant skins. It is tentatively priced at 1350 RP.
Dark Star Jarvan IV
League of Legends Patch 8.4 Exemplar of Demacia has finally received a new skin after four years, with the Fnatic skin being the latest back then. This time, Jarvan takes on the celestial darkness in his new Dark Star skin.
With visual effects on all skills featuring dark stars, sound effects coinciding with the void of space, and new voiceovers and recall and interaction animations, the Dark Star Jarvan skin is in progress and will be available on the PBE as Patch 8.4 kicks in.
The Dark Star skin for Jarvan IV is the fifth skin of the Dark Star skin line, joining Thresh, Varus, Kha’Zix and Orianna in the family. The skin is tentatively priced at 1350 RP.
Xin Zhao’s New Splash Art (again)
Xin Zhao has yet gained another splash art remake on the PBE, the third base splash art for him in League history. The new splash art will be likely to hit the live servers with the new skins, replacing the old Xin Zhao splash art.
All these skins and more changes to the game in Patch 8.4 is available on the PBE, so check out all the new content that will enter the Rift soon.
