Stopwatch wasn’t given much attention at first. However, as soon as season 8 started, stopwatch becomes a meta.
Even pro-players and streamers are in it too.
Behold, the perfect timing rune under the Inspiration tree.
How far can Stopwatch take you?
A lot of plays from pro-players include stopwatches. 3 seconds of invulnerability can make early game plays if used in the right time. Not only that, it can actually let you get away with mistakes you made just like overextending your lane. Having stopwatch can give you the confidence of engaging too early, especially if you know that your teammates will be there in the nick of time (I hope).
It is important to check if your opponent has stopwatch for it can cause a fail dive which no one wants to happen. It can also be used to avoid early game crowd controls or if used later, you can even dodge something stronger like a Zed ultimate.
Heads up! Stopwatch has its cons too.
It can give you an early game advantage but it means sacrificing potential damage which is really crucial for late game. Opting for stopwatch takes away bonus damage as it takes up a rune slot. However, it can be bought for 600 if you plan to upgrade to Zhonya’s in late game.
Just a tip, plan out your runes that suits your play style. If stopwatch meta isn’t for you, then go for Biscuit delivery instead. There’s more to learn in league everyday. Don’t be afraid to try new things. More importantly, have fun on the rift!
