Looks like “PC Master Race” is winning this one. If it weren’t, Microsoft wouldn’t be planning to get mouse and keyboard support on Xbox One.
Microsoft Poland accidentally announced support plans for Xbox One mouse and keyboard on their press release website. They confirmed that support for mouse and keyboard is in development in the post which has since been deleted.
“Some players prefer to conquer the virtual world with a pad in hand. Others, above all, value the precision of the mouse movements. Others, however, can not imagine playing on anything other than a keyboard. Now, owners of Xbox One consoles (including Xbox One S models and the latest Xbox One X) can choose these accessories and decide for themselves what they will use. ‘PC Master Race’? Thanks to the keyboard support, we can already successfully talk about ‘Xbox Master Race’,” the post said. Gamerpros captured a screenshot of the post before it was deleted. Later a Microsoft representative told Glixel, “No new announcements have been made regarding keyboard and mouse support on Xbox One. The post you referenced has been pulled down as it was created using incorrect information.”
This is in time with the release of PUBG. Many have speculated that the change could be important. PC players have a substantial advantage over Xbox players due to the accuracy and flexibility one gets while using a mouse. It was also speculated by Endgadget, which said, “Microsoft would prefer that developers offer the choice of playing only against rivals with similar controllers, so players who can’t or don’t want to buy extra peripherals won’t be at an automatic disadvantage.”
