Zombies, Ghouls and Freakish monsters. Here’s Gamegeek’s top 5 horror games in 2017!
Trembling fear. Catastrophic heart pains and, of course, the jump scares. These are one of the best things to happen in the video game industry this 2017. As the engine gets better, the quality of the horror games gets scarier. We don’t know if that’s a good thing or not, though.
To give thanks to them, here’s our pick for the best horror games in 2017!
5. Little Nightmares
We’re gonna kick this list off with something close to our hearts. Everyone who has played this game knows how ‘cute’ this game is. Starting off as a weird kid who got up from a cell, you travel through an exotic place where it will confront you of your not so little-childhood nightmares.
4. Friday the 13th
The classic masked-man returns for the ultimate hack and slash of the year. You’ll be back to Camp Crystal Lake as you finally take the role of Jason. Phew! Finally, we got to be the bad guy. We think we’re much better off as someone who kills that someone who just runs.
3. The Evil Within 2
The second part of the Evil Within franchise (hopefully here’s going to be another one to complete the trilogy). This game is one of those physiological horror games that takes you into a whole ‘nother level. Survive when you can. Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have truly outdone themselves this year.
2. Outlast 2
Developed by Red Barrels studios, this survival and thrill-quenching horror game made us all piss our pants! It gave us the horror feeling of the first game and even more, it counts as what could be the best horror game in 2017. It might have some backlashes because of its use of some symbolism, however, it didn’t slow the franchise’ growth down and it’s still great and scary in the eyes of gamers.
1. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
Yep. No explanation needed. This game scared every single one of us in 2017. Streamers, Casual Gamers, and even the game developers had nightmares. A fantastic job by Capcom. Now, where’s RE8?
The right mix of melee and visual horror makes this game the best of the best. From the Demo to the DLC – this game is SCARY!
