The famed fighting game is adding a new game mode for its third season.
Extra Battle Game Mode
Capcom has just announced a new game mode coming to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and it’s called the Extra Battle Game Mode.
A challenge will spawn every week for a month. In those four weeks, four challenges will occur, meaning one per week.
In order to enter the extra battle game mode, players must spend 2,500 fight money (which is obtainable inside the game). A total of 10,000 fight money is needed in order to enter the four challenges.
Fight money won’t be a problem for daily players, because a Golden Shadaloo Soldier will appear in the Extra Battle Game Mode every few weeks. You can fight off Shadaloo grunts to earn fight money!
You must be thinking, “Why would I want to spend my fight money on these challenges?”
Here’s Capcom’s answer:
Yes, Crossover Costumes!
Every month, a Crossover Costume will be up for grabs from the Extra Battle Game Mode. These are pretty special costumes that truly look awesome to varying Fighters. Here we can see Charlie Nash dressed up as the protagonist from 90s beat-em-up game, Captain Commando himself.
We can actually see the resemblance of the two characters — both have a sense of justice aside from being blondies.
Other crossover costumes have been revealed by Street Fighter V.
Here is the Chinese fighter Chun-Li wearing a costume from a character in a different Capcom fighting game.
Her name is June Lin Milliam, a half British half Chinese gymnast from Star Gladiator. The common factor between these two girls? Both of their parents were killed by madmen.
Lastly, we have Rashid who’s transformed into a superhero via the help of another beat-em-up Capcom game, Viewtiful Joe.
Viewtiful Joe and Rashid’s move sets match each other’s, making these two somehow connected through the costume. We want to hear this Middle Eastern guy say Henshin-a-go-go, baby!
